Biography

After hearing Cream’s version of "Crossroads" at the age of eleven, Simon Tucker knew absolutely: he wanted to play electric blues. So he picked up a guitar and two years later, at the age of thirteen, he formed his first band. Soon they were playing blues tunes and classic rock covers for local and regional events and Simon had begun writing his own music and lyrics. For seven years he continued to perform in groups whose music ranged across genres as from as Reggae to Psychedelic Rock and Blues. All the while, of course, Simon continued to refine his skills as a musician, a singer, and a songwriter. Finally, in the winter of 2003, Simon met drummer Bill Wilcox, formerly of the Northwest blues band, The Polecats, and began his fast-track journey back to his roots in the Blues. Bassist Rollie Hallen joined the pair in 2007 to form the Simon Tucker Group.

In 2008 and 2009, the group performed at venues throughout the Inland Northwest, playing their own unique arrangements of traditional blues standards along with sets from Simon’s growing repertoire of original tunes.

The trio has shared the stage with national acts such as Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Little River Band, Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits), Starship, Mark Farner (Grand Funk), Dennis DeYoung and Rick Springfield.
